Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov midrange strategy blending Angel tribal combat, lifegain synergies, and group-slug taxation under Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. The primary game plan ramps into early value engines like Black Market Connections or Righteous Valkyrie before casting Liesa on Turn 4. Once assembled, the deck leverages asymmetric lifegain to break parity on Liesa's global 2-life tax per spell cast, alongside punisher pieces such as Kambal, Consul of Allocation and Painful Quandary. Win conditions center around generating massive flying Angel armies through Resplendent Angel, Angelic Accord, and Valkyrie Harbinger, bolstered by global anthems from Archangel of Thune and Lyra Dawnbringer. The deck excels at grinding out opponents through continuous life buffer accumulation and evasive combat while severely punishing fast spell-based decks. Its commander-tax replacement mechanic provides exceptional resilience against repeated removal.
