Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is commanded by Squall, SeeD Mercenary, centering on a hybrid solitary attacker Voltron strategy powered by efficient low-mana recursion. Squall inherently grants double strike to any lone attacker and reanimates a permanent with mana value 3 or less whenever he deals combat damage to a player. Because double strike triggers this ability in both damage steps, the deck builds a dense engine of 1- to 3-drop token generators, scaling buffs, sacrificial protection creatures, and utility artifacts. Cards like Idolized, Team Avatar, Angelic Exaltation, and Sigil of Valor scale Squall's power to lethal thresholds based on the total number of permanents or tokens in play, while equipment like Brotherhood Regalia and Shadowspear ensure damage connects. Sacrificial defenders such as Selfless Spirit, Selfless Savior, and Spectacular Spider-Man protect Squall from removal and sweepers, only to be immediately returned to the battlefield via combat damage triggers, creating a highly resilient combat engine.
