Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan combat deck built around Felothar the Steadfast, turning cheap, high-toughness defenders into devastating offensive beaters. By deploying low-cost walls and high-toughness creatures during the first three turns, the deck prepares a resilient board before casting Felothar on Turn 4. Once Felothar is active, creatures assign combat damage using toughness and attack freely without defender restrictions. Felothar also provides a powerful card draw engine by sacrificing high-toughness creatures to refill your hand. The deck applies lethal pressure starting on Turn 5 using massive stat boosts like Tower Defense and evasion from Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa or Behind the Scenes. It breaks parity with asymmetric board wipes such as Slaughter the Strong and Expel the Interlopers, which devastate opponents while leaving your low-power creatures unharmed. Mass reanimation like Nethroi, Apex of Death and Reunion of the House quickly rebuilds the board after removal.
