Deck overview

This is an Abzan toughness-matters attrition deck built around Doran, Besieged by Time. Doran provides a cost-reduction engine for high-toughness creatures and a combat pump that turns each attacking creature into a miniature powerhouse. The deck backs this with redundant toughness-damage enablers in Assault Formation, Bedrock Tortoise, Ancient Lumberknot, and Tapestry Warden, plus a defensive shell of Windborn Muse, high-toughness walls, and fog effects. The primary plan is to grind out the early game with oversized defenders, deploy Doran on turn 4, and then swing with enormous toughness-based attackers like Indomitable Ancients, Treebeard, Gracious Host, and Betor, Kin to All. Recursion spells Eerie Ultimatum and Rise of the Dark Realms provide long-game inevitability. Damage is supplemented by life-total manipulation from Tree of Perdition and Rush of Dread, and a discard-drain package around Painful Quandary, Tinybones, Bauble Burglar, and Megrim.
