Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul activated-ability midrange strategy commanded by Agatha of the Vile Cauldron. The primary game plan revolves around rapidly ramping into Agatha, aggressively inflating her power through equipment, +1/+1 counters, and background enchantments, and converting that power into massive cost reductions on activated abilities. By reducing activation costs down to a single colored or colorless mana, the deck turns otherwise overcosted abilities on creatures like Bhaal's Invoker, Walking Ballista, Tyvar, the Pummeler, and Duskwatch Recruiter into devastating, machine-gun engines. The deck applies critical pressure by turn 5, dealing substantial table-wide direct damage or generating enormous trample boards, and reliably closes games on turn 6. Supported by a robust suite of efficient protection spells and substantial functional redundancy, the deck maintains high resiliency against targeted interaction while executing a proactive and lethal burn and combat strategy.
