Oloro, Ageless Ascetic by YaBoiFell

Format: Commander

Commander: Oloro, Ageless Ascetic

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is an Esper life-gain "drain" deck that turns nearly every point of life gained into table-wide damage and card advantage. Oloro, Ageless Ascetic rarely needs to leave the command zone; his automatic upkeep trigger fuels the synergistic 99, which is packed with Soul Warden-style life-gain triggers and "whenever you gain life, each opponent loses 1 life" payoffs. The primary path to victory is attrition: Cliffhaven Vampire, Marauding Blight-Priest, Starscape Cleric, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, and Drana's Emissary grind all three opponents down simultaneously. The deck backs this with solid removal, four symmetric board wipes, and robust draw. The game normally closes with a burst: a large Exsanguinate, the Bolas's Citadel + Aetherflux Reservoir engine, or a giant lifelink hit from Serra Ascendant or Heliod, Sun-Crowned. It is a mid-speed grind deck rather than a fast combo deck.
