This deck is a competitive Bant Stax and Hatebears build piloted by Derevi, Empyrial Tactician. The strategy focuses on rapid early mana acceleration via one-drop mana dorks, transitioning immediately into asymmetric resource denial. By deploying heavy tax pieces, Rule of Law effects, artifact shutoffs, and land-untap restrictions like Winter Orb and Hokori, Dust Drinker, the deck paralyzes opposing spell-based and artifact-based game plans. Derevi, Empyrial Tactician acts as the premier parity breaker: its combat damage triggers repeatedly untap our own lands and mana creatures while tapping down opposing resources, and its activated ability allows it to enter at instant speed bypassing commander tax.
