Deck overview

This Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher deck is a classic Orzhov aristocrats build that aims to grind out incremental advantage through repeated sacrifice and death triggers. The primary game plan is to deploy cheap creatures and token generators, use sacrifice outlets to trigger drain effects like Cruel Celebrant and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, and then recoup value by attacking with Carmen to return permanent cards from the graveyard. The deck wins via accumulated life loss from drain triggers and combat damage, often with Marauding Blight-Priest and Vindictive Vampire turning each death into table-wide damage. There are no infinite combos; victory comes through attrition and value loops. The commander functions as a repeatable recursion engine on attack but is not strictly required for the deck to function-the 99 contains enough recursion, draw, and sacrifice synergy to execute the plan without her.
