Deck overview

This Azorius deck pairs Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward with Candlekeep Sage to form a resilient engine centered on enter-the-battlefield triggers and token swarms. The strategy deploys cheap utility permanents, mana rocks, and the Background during the early turns before casting Abdel on Turn 5. Upon entering, Abdel exiles your nonland board to generate 1/1 Soldier tokens and draw cards. Blinking Abdel with cheap instants or repeatable triggers like Soulherder causes all exiled permanents to return, firing off their abilities before being exiled again for another wave of tokens. Win conditions leverage wide combat damage amplified by Goldnight Commander, Aven Wind Guide, or Whirler Rogue. The deck features high resilience because destroying Abdel refunds your entire exiled board immediately, while a robust suite of counterspells protects key turns.
