Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Stax and Lifegain Combo strategy led by Drana and Linvala. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost hatebears and asymmetric lock pieces to constrain opposing resources, then assembling an infinite life-drain loop to eliminate the entire table in a single turn. Early turns focus on establishing mana acceleration with rocks like Sol Ring and Arcane Signet while slowing opponents with stax pieces such as Drannith Magistrate, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, and Winter Orb. The commander provides built-in suppression against creature-centric decks, shutting down activated abilities and mana dorks. Once the board is adequately taxed, the deck transitions to its win conditions, primarily pairing Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Enduring Tenacity. Supported by robust protection cards like Grand Abolisher and Flare of Fortitude, the deck reliably finishes games on Turn 5 through unstoppable infinite life drain.
