Deck overview

This competitive Azorius deck utilizes Plagon, Lord of the Beach as an explosive card draw engine in the command zone. By leveraging zero-mana and low-cost creatures with high toughness—such as Shield Sphere, Phyrexian Walker, and Tataru Taru—Plagon draws multiple cards immediately upon entering the battlefield. The deck rapidly converts this card velocity and dense fast mana into compact, format-defining win conditions centered around Displacer Kitten, Teferi, Time Raveler, and Hullbreaker Horror. Once an engine is assembled, the deck loops mana-positive artifacts to draw the entire library, generate infinite mana, and close the game on the spot with Thassa's Oracle. Defensively, the strategy is shielded by an airtight suite of silence effects, including Silence, Ranger-Captain of Eos, and Teferi, Time Raveler, alongside premier free countermagic and targeted stax pieces like Drannith Magistrate.
