Deck overview

This deck is an Esper tempo control build helmed by Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima. The strategy leverages Jin Sakai's solo-attack trigger to grant either unblockability or double strike, generating steady card advantage while keeping the commander safe in combat. Early turns are dedicated to establishing on-curve mana rocks and deploying asymmetric hatebears like Drannith Magistrate, Ashiok, Dream Render, and Opposition Agent to disrupt opposing game plans and lock down library searches. The deck controls the board with high-efficiency spot removal, countermagic, and sweepers such as Cyclonic Rift and Supreme Verdict. To close games, the deck pivots into the Painter's Servant and Grindstone combo to mill opponents out sequentially, supported by evasive infect beats from Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon and robust protection from Grand Abolisher and Teferi's Protection.
