Deck overview

This Mono-Black Aristocrats and Control deck is commanded by Braids, Arisen Nightmare. The primary strategy deploys low-cost renewable permanents—such as Bitterblossom, Bloodghast, and Ichor Wellspring—to fuel Braids end-step sacrifice ability as early as Turn 3. Opponents are forced into a punishing dilemma: sacrifice their own developed board pieces or lose life and grant you massive card draw. This rapid card velocity pairs with explosive black mana ramp from Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx to establish dominant midgame board states. The deck finishes games on Turn 5 to 6 through massive life-drain bursts using Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and Bolas's Citadel, compounded by the damage-doubling effect of Bloodletter of Aclazotz and spell duplication via Saw in Half. Strong removal, asymmetric stax elements, and efficient reanimation ensure dominant control over the table.
