Satoru Umizawa by Zen0305

Format: Commander

Commander: Satoru Umezawa

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Dimir Ninja/Reanimator deck helmed by Satoru Umezawa, focused on cheating high-impact creatures into play by giving all creature cards in hand the ninjutsu ability. The primary win path is to deploy an unblockable creature early, then use ninjutsu to swap in massive threats like Blightsteel Colossus (infect kill), Shredder, Shadow Master (half-life cascading damage), or Ancient Silver Dragon (overwhelming card advantage). The commander also triggers a draw-one per turn when a ninjutsu activates, providing consistent pseudo-tutor velocity. The deck supports the tempo-cheat plan with a dense counterspell suite, instant-speed removal, and powerful recursion agents like Hidetsugu and Kairi. It can pivot to a control-finisher role via Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant and Hullbreaker Horror lock pieces.
