Deck overview

Felothar the Steadfast is the engine and enabler of a toughness-matters Abzan defender deck. The deck intends to deploy high-toughness defenders, then use Felothar-backed up by Doran the Siege Tower, Bedrock Tortoise, Assault Formation, and Baldin-to make them attack for their toughness. Felothar's sacrifice ability turns a large wall into a burst of draw, and that draw can fuel a one-shot Baldin attack powered by hand size. Secondary lines are the Tree of Perdition/Redemption exchange into Felothar draw, and a Jaws of Defeat + Overkill kill on one opponent. Doran acts as the hidden backup commander, while Wakestone Gargoyle offers a non-commander way to let defenders attack.
