ULTRON Horde by user3901222

Format: Commander

Commander: Ultron, Artificial Malevolence

Bracket: 1

Deck overview

Ultron, Artificial Malevolence turns every nontoken artifact into a potential 2/2 Robot Villain copy, so the deck is built around casting a critical mass of cheap artifacts and doubling the best payoff pieces. The primary plan is to ramp into Ultron by turn three, then copy mana rocks and token-producing artifacts such as Worn Powerstone, Golem Foundry, Pentavus, and Mishra's Self-Replicator. The resulting board of 2/2, 3/3, and 9/9 artifact creatures wins through combat after several build-up turns. Secondary wins come from Karn, the Great Creator animating your artifacts, Tezzeret's emblem turning every artifact into a creature, and Ugin, Eye of the Storms exiling colored permanents while you cast free colorless spells. There is no instant-speed combo; the deck is an incremental value engine and one of the slowest strategies in the format.
