Deck overview

This Bant deck blends Chulane, Teller of Tales creature-storm acceleration with Merfolk tribal synergy. The game plan accelerates on Turn 1 with mana dorks or land enchantments, deploys Chulane on Turn 4, and uses cheap Merfolk and self-bouncing creatures like Shrieking Drake to draw through the deck and put lands directly into play. The deck establishes an oppressive board on Turn 5 with Opposition or Intruder Alarm, before closing the game on Turn 6 via Finale of Devastation or unblockable combat damage with Islandwalk lords like Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident. If Chulane is unavailable, Hakbal of the Surging Soul and Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca seamlessly sustain card flow and board pressure. The list packs versatile interaction and plan shielding through Teferi, Time Raveler, Dovin's Veto, and Vodalian Hexcatcher, making it resilient, fast, and adaptable across diverse multiplayer tables.
