Commander: Captain N'ghathrod

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Captain N'ghathrod is a Dimir Horror mill-and-theft deck. The primary plan is to deploy Horrors, attack with menace, mill each opponent on combat damage, and then steal the best artifact or creature that was put into the graveyard that turn. Bruvac the Grandiloquent and The Water Crystal are the hidden engines: they double and augment every mill trigger, making Ruin Crab, Mesmeric Orb, and Phenax activations into lethal-scale effects. Syr Konrad turns all that milling into damage, while Breach the Multiverse and Reanimate grab extra threats. The commander is both payoff and recursion, but Phenax and Bruvac can run the mill plan even if Captain is removed or never cast.
