Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue tempo and kindred spellslinger strategy commanded by Namor the Sub-Mariner. Namor bridges the gap between spellcasting and creature combat by generating a 1/1 blue Merfolk token for every blue mana symbol ({U}) in the mana costs of noncreature spells you cast, while scaling his own flying power with your Merfolk count. The deck deploys low-cost ramp and kindred value engines early, establishes Namor on Turn 3, and uses efficient interaction and draw spells on Turn 4 to flood the board with tokens. Coastal Piracy effects convert unblockable and Islandwalking Merfolk attacks into massive card advantage, refilling your hand with counterspells and asymmetric bounce wipes like Raise the Palisade and Cyclonic Rift. The deck reliably closes out games around Turn 8 through overwhelming evasive combat damage.
