Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Rakdos Group Slug engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy focuses on establishing early passive damage sources like Ankh of Mishra, Roiling Vortex, and Razorkin Needlehead during the opening turns. Once Valgavoth enters the battlefield on Turn 3 or 4, each opponent taking damage on their turn triggers Valgavoth, drawing a fresh card and adding a +1/+1 counter. This creates an overwhelming card advantage engine that draws up to 3 extra cards per turn cycle while continuously growing a lethal flying commander. The deck applies severe pressure through damage multipliers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, anti-draw punishers like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Orcish Bowmasters, and hand-refueling cards like Wheel of Fortune. Opponents face constant resource attrition and life loss for performing basic game actions, allowing Valgavoth and accumulated burn to close out the game around Turn 7.
