Deck overview

This deck is an Esper spellslinger and control strategy commanded by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The primary game plan revolves around casting noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater to repeatedly trigger Y'shtola's ability, dealing 2 damage to each opponent and gaining 2 life. This consistent life swing fuels Y'shtola's end-step card draw engine. The deck accelerates its win condition by attaching Phyresis or Grafted Exoskeleton to Y'shtola, converting each noncreature spell trigger into 2 poison counters for every opponent. Supporting the commander is a suite of Scion allies, cost reducers like Lyse Hext and Mindsplice Apparatus, and token generators like Hermes, Overseer of Elpis. Robust interaction spells, including Void Rend, Swords to Plowshares, and Inkshield, disrupt opposing threats while Propaganda deters incoming attacks. The deck wins by accumulating 10 poison counters on all opponents or closing life totals with Aetherflux Reservoir and Exsanguinate.
