Deck overview

Fire Lord Zuko leads an aggressive Mardu midrange deck that turns exile-based card advantage and flicker effects into table-wide creature buffs. The game plan focuses on casting the commander on Turn 3, followed by steady impulse-draw spells and airbending mechanics that exile permanents and spells. Every time a card is cast from exile or enters from exile, Zuko distributes +1/+1 counters across your entire board, steadily transforming modest utility creatures into lethal attackers. Meanwhile, firebending abilities generate burst red mana during combat to fuel additional spells and activated abilities. The deck backs up its combat plan with premier Mardu removal spells like Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, and Damn, while sheltering key turns behind Teferi's Protection and Everybody Lives!. It reaches critical board pressure by Turn 6 and reliably closes out the game through evasive combat damage on Turn 8.
