Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy with the Scion of Halaster background is a Dimir spell-slinger and graveyard-value deck. Gale is the active commander and recursion engine; Scion is a background enabler that replaces the first draw each turn with a two-card selection that mills one card, letting the deck fill its graveyard while keeping card quality. The primary plan is to chain cost-reduced instants and sorceries into token, draw, and drain effects, then win through Leveler + Laboratory Maniac + a draw spell, with Divining Witch as a tutor. Secondary paths are Peer into the Abyss paired with Ob Nixilis/Underworld Dreams, and evasive token beats with Archetype of Imagination. The deck packs heavy countermagic but has a slow, low-ramp mana base.
