Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around Phage the Untouchable, transforming a high-risk commander into a lethal weapon. Because Phage causes its owner to lose the game if not cast directly from hand, the list runs dedicated enablers to circumvent this drawback. Cards like Command Beacon, Campfire, and Netherborn Altar place Phage into hand from the command zone, while Torpor Orb, Karn, Argent Defender, and Sundial of the Infinite stifle or end the turn to neutralize the enter-the-battlefield trigger entirely. Once Phage resolves safely, equipment and evasion grants like Whispersilk Cloak and Swiftfoot Boots allow it to eliminate opponents in a single strike. In addition to commander combat, the deck features a lethal donation engine via Endless Whispers paired with Leveler, forcing opponents to inherit game-losing triggers upon death.
