Deck overview

This is a Dimir Rat-tribal control deck helmed by Vren, the Relentless, built around a "death by a thousand edicts" plan. The core loop is simple: force opponents to sacrifice creatures with a dense suite of sacrifice edicts (Fleshbag Marauder, Plaguecrafter, Sheoldred's Edict, Vona's Hunger), let Vren's replacement effect exile those creatures, and convert each death into a swarm of 1/1 Rats at every end step. The swarm then closes the game through Rat force-multipliers: Marrow-Gnawer's fear and token doubling, Piper of the Swarm's menace, Cover of Darkness evasion, and Roaming Throne doubling Vren's trigger.
