Deck overview

This mono-blue control deck leverages Katara, Waterbending Master to convert reactive, instant-speed interaction on opponents' turns into experience counters. Once Katara has accrued counters, she attacks alongside evasion equipment like Brotherhood Regalia and Sword Coast Sailor to draw massive bursts of cards. These draws fuel payoffs such as Psychosis Crawler, Alandra, Sky Dreamer, Ominous Seas, and The Watcher in the Water, rapidly generating board presence and direct life drain. The deck plays a classic draw-go strategy: holding up mana for counterspells and removal during opponents' turns to trigger Katara, then leveraging the resulting card advantage to maintain control and push through a decisive Turn 8 finish. Because experience counters stay on the player, the deck displays strong resilience against commander removal.
