Deck overview

Ragost, Deft Gastronaut commands an artifact-centric burn and aristocrats deck that transforms every artifact into a Food and a repeatable burn engine. By converting cheap artifact tokens, utility eggs, and recurring permanents into direct damage, the deck drains all three opponents simultaneously while maintaining life buffer and board presence. Early turns focus on deploying mana rocks and low-cost artifact generators such as Servo Schematic and Mouser Foundry. Once Ragost is established alongside payoffs like Reckless Fireweaver, Nuka-Cola Vending Machine, or The Gaffer, each sacrificed artifact produces mana, cards, or additional damage. Defensive instants like Blacksmith's Skill and Surge of Salvation protect the commander from targeted removal, while Chandra's Incinerator turns burn triggers into one-sided creature wipes. Because the deck wins through steady incremental life loss over multiple turn rotations rather than fast infinite combos, it remains vulnerable to sweepers and requires careful management of sacrifice fodder.
