Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Zombie tribal strategy commanded by Varina, Lich Queen. The primary plan focuses on establishing early Zombie board presence, casting Varina to filter through the library, and filling the graveyard with high-impact creatures. Varina converts spent cards into 2/2 Zombie tokens, expanding the board while buffering the pilot's life total. The deck transitions into the midgame by stacking tribal lords such as Death Baron, Undead Warchief, and Eternal Skylord, granting the swarm evasion and deathtouch. Life drain engines including Wayward Servant, Corpse Knight, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel punish opponents whenever creatures enter or die. If the battlefield is cleared, powerful mass recursion spells like Living Death and Zombie Apocalypse rebuild the army in a single turn. The deck balances proactive creature pressure with versatile removal and countermagic to control key opposing threats on the path to a combat and drain victory.
