Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Hashaton, Scarab's Fist deck is a discard-centric reanimator strategy in Esper that turns hand-loading into battlefield advantage. The commander's trigger-pay {2}{U} after discarding a creature card to create a tapped 4/4 black Zombie copy-lets you cheat expensive evasive threats into play at a fraction of their mana cost. The deck is packed with repeatable looters (Likeness Looter, Currency Converter, Collector's Vault) and discard payoffs (Archfiend of Ifnir, Monument to Endurance, Dying to Serve) that generate incremental value each time you discard. Primary wins come from overwhelming combat with reanimated bombs like Ashen Rider, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, and Sire of Stagnation, alongside token swarms and attrition effects. The deck also contains mass-reanimation spells (Rise of the Dark Realms, Grimoire of the Dead) as a backup plan. The commander is a valuable enabler but not strictly required; the 99 can operate independently through traditional reanimation.
