Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Selesnya midrange beatdown deck led by Wakka, Devoted Guardian. The game plan utilizes a dense suite of one-mana accelerants to deploy Wakka on Turn 3, followed by immediate combat connections on Turn 4 to trigger artifact destruction and end-step counter distribution across the entire board. By layering counter doublers and stat multipliers such as Branching Evolution, Byrke, Long Ear of the Law, and Sovereign Okinec Ahau, the deck scales small utility creatures into massive lethal threats within two combat steps. Dedicated overrun spells including Akroma's Will and Triumph of the Hordes enable explosive finishes on Turn 5 or 6. While vulnerable to early spot removal targeting Wakka before combat damage is dealt, the deck mitigates board wipes through premier protective spells like Teferi's Protection and Heroic Intervention, and preserves accumulated counter value across board wipes using The Ozolith and Resourceful Defense.
