Deck overview

This Rakdos deck operates as a high-powered Group Slug and Attrition engine commanded by Mogis, God of Slaughter. It accelerates rapidly using format-staple fast mana to establish oppressive board taxes, draw engines, and punisher permanents by turn 3. Rather than relying on traditional creature combat, the deck drains life totals through forced upkeep sacrifices, mana punishment like Manabarbs, and spell taxes like Painful Quandary. Key draw engines such as The One Ring, Necropotence, and Ad Nauseam quickly refill the hand with interaction and tutors. The deck creates a lethal onset on turn 4 through wheel synergies with Sheoldred, the Apocalypse or Orcish Bowmasters, before converting its mana and card surplus into a game-ending Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate on turn 5. Its high density of redundant engines ensures resilient execution even without its commander.
