Deck overview

This Abzan deck centers on Doran, Besieged by Time, turning high-toughness, low-power creatures into potent offensive threats. By granting cost reductions to butt-heavy creatures and boosting power and toughness during combat by the difference between the two stats, Doran enables defensive staples to hit like giants. The deck curves out with low-cost mana creatures, transitions into value engines like Fecund Greenshell and The Necrobloom, and leverages asymmetric board wipes like Fell the Mighty that spare its own low-power board. Rich graveyard recursion via Living Death, Sevinne's Reclamation, and Timeless Witness ensures the deck recovers smoothly from opposing interaction. Win conditions rely on grinding through opposing blockers using trample from Thunderfoot Baloth or overwhelming power from Zetalpa, Primal Dawn.
