Format: Commander

Commander: Toph, the First Metalbender

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Naya lands-matter deck built around turning lands into enormous creatures and chaining extra combat steps. Toph, the First Metalbender does double duty: her static ability makes every nontoken artifact a land (fixing mana and enabling artifact-sacrifice lines), and her end-step earthbend turns lands into hasty 0/0s with +1/+1 counters. The 99 is packed with redundant earthbenders (Toph, the Blind Bandit, Toph, Greatest Earthbender, Toph, Earthbending Master, Bumi, Eclectic Earthbender, Bumi, Unleashed, Earthbending Student, Badgermole Cub, Avatar Kyoshi, Earthbender) plus a dense landfall package (Lotus Cobra, Tireless Provisioner, Evolution Sage, Mossborn Hydra, Scute Swarm). The primary win is combat: pump a land creature to absurd size with counter doublers (Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, Bristly Bill, Spine Sower) and finish with Moraug, Fury of Akoum + Scapeshift or Bumi, Unleashed extra-combat chains. Secondary lines include Tannuk, Memorial Ensign pinging and Krark-Clan Ironworks artifact-as-land mana.
