Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Big Mana Control deck with Phage the Untouchable in the command zone. While Phage offers an alternate one-shot player elimination option when enabled by Command Beacon, Torpor Orb, or Platinum Angel, the deck primarily operates as a potent big-mana and drain engine. It utilizes early ramp, land tutors, and dark rituals to establish mana multipliers like Cabal Coffers, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Crypt Ghast, and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. Powerful card engines including Bolas's Citadel, Peer into the Abyss, and Necropotence rapidly assemble resources. The deck controls opposing development through efficient spot removal, sweepers like Toxic Deluge, and asymmetric sacrifice locks from Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos. Once overwhelming mana is generated, it casts a massive Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate to eliminate all three opponents simultaneously on Turn 5, winning in a single turn without relying on combat.
