Deck overview

This Jeskai deck pairs Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist with Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist to combine equipment-based beatdown with forced-combat political control. Ardenn acts as the deck's primary tempo engine, completely circumventing steep equip costs like the eight mana on Colossus Hammer. Ludevic rewards opponents with extra card draws when they attack players other than you, synergizing naturally with a dense suite of goad effects, Assault Suit, and Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos. The deck steadily drains opponent life totals by forcing them into hostile combat exchanges while redirecting retaliatory strikes using Deflecting Palm, Comeuppance, and Arcbond. For an instant finish, it can assemble an infinite damage loop by equipping Blazing Sunsteel to Brash Taunter.
