Deck overview

Chevill, Bane of Monsters leads a Golgari control and combat midrange strategy. The deck uses Chevill's bounty mechanic alongside cheap fight and bite spells to convert spot removal into continuous card draw and life gain. Deathtouch creatures double as defensive deterrents and potent removal vectors. After suppressing opposing threats in the early game, the deck accelerates into powerful midgame threats like The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride and Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider. It closes the game by deploying poison accelerators like Fynn, the Fangbearer or casting Triumph of the Hordes for an overrun kill. Efficient protection spells shield your board from spot removal and damage wipes, while Vraska, the Silencer and Toski, Bearer of Secrets ensure you outlast opponents in longer attrition games.
