Deck overview

Kibo, Uktabi Prince leads a Gruul aggro deck that blends Ape and Monkey tribal synergy with aggressive artifact punishment. The game plan revolves around deploying Kibo early, handing out Banana tokens to opponents, and rapidly growing the board as artifacts are destroyed or sacrificed for mana. Dense low-mana ramp ensures Kibo enters on Turn 2 or 3, quickly establishing the token engine. As opponents crack Bananas or succumb to targeted removal like Vandalblast and By Force, Kibo distributes +1/+1 counters across all primates. Combat enablers such as Shared Animosity, Garruk's Uprising, and Kodama of the West Tree translate this accumulated power into overwhelming, evasive attacks. Bloodroot Apothecary and Manglehorn provide asymmetric pressure against artifact-heavy and treasure-reliant strategies. While the deck lacks combo finishes and noncreature tutors, its resilient creature suite, redundant artifact hate, and high-velocity counter scaling create a relentless clock capable of closing games through decisive combat steps.
