Deck overview

This Golgari deck is an optimized Aristocrats and Reanimator engine piloted by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The primary plan accelerates in the early turns using mana dorks and low-cost ramp, establishing Meren alongside sacrifice outlets and recursive fodder by Turn 4. The deck dominates creature-centric tables through crushing attrition loops, repeatedly recurring edict creatures like Plaguecrafter and Accursed Marauder in conjunction with Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos. Once the board is controlled or the graveyard is primed, the deck pivots into a decisive combo finish on Turn 5 using Protean Hulk, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, or Buried Alive to assemble Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Walking Ballista, and a sacrifice outlet for an instant-speed table kill. The deck boasts extraordinary grind potential and card velocity, balanced by vulnerability to instant graveyard interaction and a lack of stack counterspells.
