Deck overview

This deck leverages Obeka, Splitter of Seconds to weaponize combat damage into cascading upkeep triggers. By connecting with opponents, Obeka grants additional upkeep steps equal to the combat damage dealt. The list pairs this mechanic with high-yield upkeep permanents such as Court of Ambition, Twilight Prophet, Plargg and Nassari, and Court of Ire to rapidly drain life totals and empty enemy hands. Evasion enablers like Aqueous Form, Lizard Blades, and Genji Glove ensure Obeka connects reliably and doubles her damage output. Additional combat phases from Seize the Day, Karlach, Fury of Avernus, and Moraug, Fury of Akoum compound these upkeeps exponentially within a single turn. Defensively, the deck runs efficient counterspells including Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat, along with versatile interaction like Cyclonic Rift. The result is an explosive midrange attrition strategy that converts early combat connections into an insurmountable resource advantage.
