Smaug greedy banker by user1376026

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable is a self-damage Treasure engine: the deck ramps for a turn or two, casts the 7-mana dragon, then points Cut Propulsion, Pyrohemia, or Blasphemous Act at it to generate a huge burst of Treasure. Secondary plans use other Treasure dragons and token payoffs to reach Revel in Riches, Hellkite Tyrant, or Knuckles the Echidna before finishing with a drain effect or a giant Exsanguinate. Smaug the Magnificent acts as a hidden secondary commander by converting Treasure count into direct damage. The deck is heavily artifact-centered, so it punishes opponents with Reckless Fireweaver/Mirkwood Bats triggers once the token engine turns on.
