Deck overview

Vilis, Broker of Blood is a mono-black "life as a resource" deck that weaponizes the commander's trigger - every point of life lost draws a card. The entire 99 is built around paying life aggressively through K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, Necropotence, Greed, Wall of Blood, and a dozen other life-payment outlets, converting that life into overwhelming card advantage. The life total is then cashed in for wins via Aetherflux Reservoir (pay 50 life for 50 damage), Exsanguinate, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Psychosis Crawler, and Tendrils of Agony. It is a grindy, high-synergy control deck that uses life as both fuel and weapon, with a strong mana engine in Cabal Coffers, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, and Crypt Ghast to power its expensive commander and finishers.
