Angels by user8943926

Format: Commander

Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Kaalia of the Vast leads a midrange Angel beatdown deck. The primary goal is to resolve Kaalia as early as turn 3-4, then trigger her attack ability to cheat a large Angel into play tapped and attacking. Around this engine the deck packs an unusually high density of Angels with flying, lifelink, and indestructible effects, plus a recursion package and a few damage doublers. The secondary plan is to hard-cast Angels using cost reducers such as Herald's Horn and Starnheim Aspirant, or to generate Angel tokens through Luminarch Ascension, The Book of Exalted Deeds, and Valkyrie Harbinger. A hidden commander exists in the Gisela, the Broken Blade / Bruna, the Fading Light pair, which can meld into Brisela, Voice of Nightmares. The deck is resilient to wipes but relies on aggressive combat phases to finish all three opponents.
