Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis midrange strategy centered on Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary plan relies on deploying Sauron by Turn 5 to passively generate an Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells. On Turn 6, attacking with an Army triggers the Ring's temptation, allowing you to discard your hand and draw four fresh cards each turn cycle. This massive card replenishment fuels an aggressive combat plan supported by token creators like Lord of the Nazgûl and Saruman, the White Hand, as well as combat finishers like Assault on Osgiliath. The deck also includes an infinite extra-turn combo using Panoptic Mirror imprinted with Time Warp or Walk the Aeons. A high land count ensures reliable land drops, while counterspells and Sauron's built-in ward protect your board state as you grind out opponents across multiple combat steps.
