Deck overview

Phenax, God of Deception is a mill deck built around turning high-toughness creatures into repeatable tap-to-mill engines. Bruvac the Grandiloquent is the hidden commander: every doubling effect turns one-shot spells like Fractured Sanity, Traumatize, or kicked Maddening Cacophony into lethal. The Water Crystal adds a second modifier, and Keening Stone or Consuming Aberration scale alongside graveyard size. Secondary paths include a Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank loop and a Jace, Wielder of Mysteries backup. The commander's indestructibility and cheap boot effects make it resilient once online. The deck wins by attrition mill, not by attacking, and needs to land multipliers to speed up the clock.
