Deck overview

This mono-green stompy deck harnesses undercosted, high-stat creatures to rapidly reduce the casting cost of Ghalta, Primal Hunger to its {G}{G} minimum. Opening turns prioritize efficient mana dorks like Llanowar Elves and Birds of Paradise into aggressive three-drop beaters such as Steel Leaf Champion and Pugnacious Hammerskull. With 10 or more power assembled by Turn 3 or 4, Ghalta, Primal Hunger hits the board as an immediate 12/12 trampling threat. Once Ghalta enters, the deck transitions from mana acceleration to explosive card advantage, leveraging draw spells like Rishkar's Expertise, Thickest in the Thicket, and Garruk's Uprising to flood hand and board. Lethality accelerates through mass pump spells such as Overwhelming Stampede and Unnatural Growth, closing games via overwhelming combat damage around Turn 7. The strategy features high threat redundancy and resilient recovery, though it remains vulnerable to sweepers and lacks stack-based countermagic.
