Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Dimir control-midrange strategy led by Vren, the Relentless. It leverages symmetric sacrifice effects and efficient removal spells to control the board while converting removed opposing creatures into an exponentially scaling army of Relentless Rat tokens. Vren's static replacement effect fundamentally shuts down aristocrats, reanimator, and death-trigger strategies by exiling opposing creatures instead of allowing them to hit the graveyard. Once the commander is deployed on Turn 4, group edicts such as Fleshbag Marauder and Sheoldred's Edict trigger massive token generation at each end step. Payoffs like Valley Rotcaller, Piper of the Swarm, and Ayara, First of Locthwain turn this wide board into lethal combat and drain damage, while Kindred Discovery and Bident of Thassa maintain continuous card advantage.
