War by ShadowAge

Format: Commander

Commander: Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer and Raised by Giants

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul goad-and-voltron strategy built around Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer with the Raised by Giants Background. The commander becomes a 10/10 base that goads every creature opponents control with power less than its own - which after the Background is essentially their entire board. The goad forces chaotic combat, and every goaded creature that dies generates a Treasure token, fueling further plays. The primary win condition is commander damage via equipment like Blackblade Reforged, Mage Slayer, or Excalibur, Sword of Eden, often delivering a one-shot kill. Secondary paths include Chandra's Ignition with a massive creature, Insurrection to steal an army, or incremental drain from Brash Taunter and repeated goad triggers. The deck lacks traditional combos and relies on combat inevitability backed by a moderate protection suite.
