Deck overview

This deck is a Jund -1/-1 counters midrange strategy commanded by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch. The game plan centers on distributing -1/-1 counters across both sides of the board to generate overwhelming resource disparity. Putting counters on friendly creatures draws cards through Auntie Ool, while placing counters on opposing creatures whittles down life totals and clears blockers. Cards like Carnifex Demon, Soul Snuffers, and Archfiend of Ifnir act as one-sided board wipes against smaller creatures, while Kulrath Knight completely shuts down combat for any opposing creature marked with a counter. The deck backs up this attrition engine with flexible spot removal, including Assassin's Trophy and Fire Covenant. Because the list contains no infinite combos or fast nonland tutors, it wins through methodical combat damage and steady life drain, requiring multiple turn cycles to close out the game while remaining susceptible to opposing creature sweepers.
