Deck overview

This deck is an optimized competitive mono-black turbo combo deck led by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. The core game plan focuses on deploying K'rrik on Turn 2 or 3 using fast acceleration such as Dark Ritual, Mana Vault, and Sol Ring. Once K'rrik is on the battlefield, the deck converts life into black mana, casting high-impact tutors like Buried Alive, Entomb, and Demonic Tutor at negligible mana costs. This rapidly sets up game-ending reanimation lines—primarily Necrotic Ooze acquiring the activated abilities of Asmodeus the Archfiend and Skirge Familiar from the graveyard, or chaining Hoarding Broodlord with Saw in Half. Alternatively, resolving Peer into the Abyss or Bolas's Citadel draws dozens of cards in one burst. The deck finishes on the same turn using Aetherflux Reservoir or Gray Merchant of Asphodel drain loops. Although vulnerable to countermagic and graveyard hate, its sheer velocity and tutor redundancy make it an explosive threat.
