Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan reanimator and life-manipulation midrange engine commanded by Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The strategy uses self-inflicted life loss from painlands, MDFCs, Doom Whisperer, and Sylvan Library to fuel Betor's end-step reanimation trigger, while Betor's lifelink and lifegain engines distribute massive +1/+1 counters across your attackers. By leveraging self-mill and targeted graveyard tutors such as Lively Dirge and Grisly Salvage, the deck cheats terrifying threats into play as early as turns 4–5, including Valgavoth, Terror Eater, Massacre Wurm, and Colossal Grave-Reaver. Opponents are pressured from multiple angles: asymmetric graveyard denial and edicts constrain their resources, while explosive combat finishes enabled by Akroma's Will or life-drain from Enduring Tenacity close out the table across turns 6–7.
